Why prices by use

Sending is what PineMail pays for as you use it: Amazon SES for each recipient of an email that leaves. We charge about three times that cost, and the account fee pays for running the service and building it further. Storage is sold in one place, PineKeep, where the account's Drive and buckets are, so there is one way to get more of it.

An extra mailbox or domain costs us almost nothing, so it costs you nothing. A company with support@, info@ and a few people, or a developer with an app on each of several domains, pays for the mail they send, not for the addresses.

When storage fills up

  • All mailboxes and projects on an account, and its files and buckets in PineKeep, draw from the same storage. Nothing is split per mailbox or per product.
  • Mail keeps arriving. A message whose attachment does not fit is still delivered and stored, and the attachment is marked as skipped in the file list.
  • Before an upload is refused, PineMail removes mail attachments older than 30 days that you have not starred or pinned, down to 90 percent of the quota.
  • Starring or pinning a file keeps it out of that cleanup. Nothing you have marked is removed.
  • At the quota, new uploads stop until you free space. More storage will be sold as PineKeep.

Prices include VAT. Enterprise is sold to businesses and excludes VAT. The figures are provisional and are confirmed before card payment opens. Until then, paid accounts are set up on request.
