  1. Mail

Drag conversations to a folder or a label

In the mail app, a conversation or a selection of them can be dragged onto Inbox, Starred, Important, Archive, Spam, Trash or a label in the sidebar. While you drag, the places it can land are outlined and the one under the pointer says what will happen. Undo is in the message that follows.

  2. API

Bounces and automatic replies are marked, and threads can be sorted through the API

Received mail is marked as a bounce, an automatic reply (out of office, a receipt) or a sender check, in the mail app and in the API, and a bounce shows who did not get the mail and what the receiving server said. A bounce or a reply goes in the thread of the message it answers and names it. GET /v1/mailboxes/{id}/messages/{id} shows what became of a sent message: delivered, bounced, its bounces and its replies. Threads can be archived, read, starred, snoozed, labelled and trashed through the API, one or up to 100 at a time, with the new scope mail:organize. Mailbox sends and drafts take tags, the thread list filters by kind and tag, and up to 100 drafts can be scheduled in one call with a spacing in minutes. Soft bounces are counted per address, and a project can choose to stop sending to an address after 3, 5 or 10 in a row. The same is in the MCP tools and, for soft bounces, in the SDK 0.4.0.

  3. Account

Your limits and what is used, on the account page

Plan and limits on the account page shows every limit with what is used of it: recipients this month from the mailboxes and through the API, the last 24 hours and the last minute, storage, projects, mailboxes and domains, and each mailbox's own cap. A mailbox login sees the sending limits of the account it belongs to. When a limit is reached, the message says so and how to get more.

  4. Site

A status page measured every minute

The status page checks the web app, the sending API, incoming mail, sending from mail apps, IMAP, outgoing delivery, PineKeep and S3 once a minute, the way you reach them. It shows each service now, the last 90 days, monthly reports and every interruption, with what we know about it. Minutes we did not measure are shown as unknown, never as up.

  5. API

Every limit, and what is used of it, through the API

GET /v1/limits answers with the limits on what a key reaches and what is used of each: recipients this month from the mailboxes and through the API, in the last 24 hours and the last minute, whether sending is paused, storage, and how many projects, mailboxes and domains the account may have, with each mailbox's own daily cap and what it sent. Any key may call it. A sign-in that reaches mailboxes of other accounts gets those accounts' sending limits too. The MCP tool get_limits and limits.get() in the SDK, version 0.3.0, do the same.

  6. Account

Paying accounts have no monthly send ceiling

Pay as you go pays per 1,000 recipients and has no ceiling a month, only a pace of at most 1,000 recipients a minute. The free plan keeps 300 recipients a month from its mailboxes and 100 through the API, with at most 100 a day and 20 a minute. A mailbox no longer has a cap of 100 a day by default; the project's mailbox list sets one per address when wanted. Sending from mailboxes is now paused, as the API already was, when too much of it bounces or is reported as spam, and a hard bounce from a mailbox puts the address on the project's do-not-send list.

  7. Mail

A do-not-send list for the whole project

When someone asks not to be written to, choose Don't send to … in the message's menu, or the button next to them under Contacts. Nothing more goes to the address from any mailbox of the project, over SMTP or through the API, and mail already scheduled to them is stopped. Under Contacts the list shows every address and why it is there, and Send again takes one off. Through the API: POST /v1/suppressions adds, GET /v1/suppressions/{address} answers for one address, DELETE takes it off; the MCP tools list_suppressions, add_suppressions and remove_suppression do the same.

  8. API

Undo for mail sent through the API

POST /v1/emails takes undo_seconds (1 to 300): the email is held that long, the answer has undo_until, and POST /v1/emails/{id}/cancel takes it back meanwhile. The project's Emails page, when open, shows it with Undo, and a scheduled email's page has Cancel send. A message an app or assistant sends from a mailbox shows in the open mail app with Undo for the mailbox's undo window, and POST /v1/mailboxes/{id}/messages/{message_id}/cancel takes it back to Drafts. The MCP tools and the SDK (0.2.0) do the same.

  1. API

SMTP with an API key, a JavaScript SDK, template versions and webhooks that recover

An app that can only speak SMTP signs in to mail.pinemail.app as pinemail with a key that can send, and its mail goes through the sending API. The package pinemail covers the API in JavaScript and TypeScript and checks webhook signatures. Each saved change to a template keeps the version before it, and an earlier version can be restored. A webhook whose deliveries have failed for 5 days is turned off and you are told; failed deliveries can be sent again one by one or all since a time.

  2. API

Templates, scheduling, batches and attachments when you send

An email sent over the API or through an assistant can name a saved template and fill in its variables, be scheduled up to 30 days ahead and then moved or canceled, and carry up to 20 attachments, 30 MB together. Up to 100 emails go in one call, each accepted or refused on its own. The suppression list can be read, added to and emptied of an address over the API.

  3. Mail

Choose how times show in mail

Click a time in the mail list or in an open mail to choose: how long ago (the default, from minutes to years), the time today and the date before, or the date and time. The choice is yours alone and follows you on every device. Hover a time to see the full date and time.

  4. API

Change what you made, instead of making it again

API keys, account keys and S3 keys keep their secret while you change their name and what they reach. A webhook's URL and events can be changed, and Send test sends a signed test event. Contacts can be renamed and people in the directory edited. A share link or a sent transfer can be given a new end without a new address. Templates can be made, changed and removed over the API.

  5. Site

    This page, and a newsletter

Every change a user can see is listed here, with an RSS feed. A newsletter from the people who run PineMail goes out about once a month, sent from our own address after a confirmation link; every letter is also published on the site.

  6. Assistants

AI assistants connect over MCP, with personal data masked

An assistant connects to your account with a login and a consent page, and only writes drafts unless you allow more. Names, personal numbers and other personal data are replaced before a text reaches the assistant, and put back in what it writes. You decide which mailboxes and correspondents assistants reach, can keep Drive from them, or turn them off. Marks in mail and files show what is hidden.

  7. API

An MCP server at /mcp, and mailbox mail over the API

The public API is available as tools for agents at /mcp. A mailbox's mail can be read, searched, drafted and sent over the API with a key for that mailbox.

  8. Mail

A file too big for an attachment goes as a link

Compose attaches files up to the limit for attachments. Files past 28 MB together are sent as a link that expires, the same links as in Files.

  9. Site

A page on sending from your app, and a calculator that says Free

The transactional page explains sending, setup and delivery, and shows what a small company with several domains pays. The calculator and the examples say Free when a use fits the free plan.

  10. Mail

Rules, out of office and undo send

Rules sort incoming mail. An out-of-office reply answers while you are away. A sent message can be taken back for a short while after sending, from the notice that appears. Scheduled messages are sent at their time.

  11. Mail

Import old mail, aliases and forwarding

Old mail is imported into a mailbox from another account over IMAP, or from an exported file. Aliases are extra addresses that land in a mailbox and can be sent from, and the out-of-office reply comes from the alias written to. Forwarding to another address is confirmed by that address first.

  12. Calendar

Week numbers, and a rail that folds away

The calendar shows week numbers and where the view sits from today, with the shown week banded in the small month. It has a rail of its own that folds away, and the grid reads in both themes.

  13. Account

The free plan sends to 300 recipients a month

Every send limit counts recipients. Paid sending is priced per 1,000 recipients. Incoming mail has no limit.

  14. API

Sending keys locked to a domain, and account keys for files and buckets

A sending key can be locked to one domain and its addresses; a key without a lock sends from any verified domain of the project. Files, buckets and S3 keys are account keys. Scopes are picked with Select all and Clear, and the docs say which key does what.

  15. PineKeep

The PineKeep beta takes approved accounts

A place in the beta is requested from the buckets pages or over the API. Operators approve requests and give each account its place.

  16. Legal

Legal pages download as PDF, and the DPA covers PineKeep

The data processing agreement covers PineKeep and Article 28 in full. Every account owner gets a notice when the legal texts get a new version.

  17. Site

    Deploys no longer interrupt anyone

A new version starts next to the old one and takes over once it answers. Requests in flight finish on the old one.

  18. Account

    The project is the context

A switcher in the top bar picks the project. Apps are shown in two groups, and mailboxes are listed by project and domain. An operator can edit a mailbox on the owner's behalf: name, daily limit, and who signs in.

  19. PineKeep

Files in buckets are protected against deletion

A bucket keeps versions and locks each object, so a deleted or overwritten object can be brought back for at least seven days. Operators are told when the protection stops being renewed.

  1. Account

A login is a choice, invitations, a recovery address, one quota

A mailbox can exist without a login of its own. The owner invites people to the account. A recovery address restores access to the account. Mail, Drive and buckets share one storage quota.

  2. API

DNS settings, senders per domain, and domains that verify themselves

DNS records are managed on the domain page and in the API. Each domain has its senders, with replies going to a mailbox. A domain checks its own records and verifies when they are in place. The bell warns the owner at 80 % of storage and when it is full.

  3. API

Files, buckets and DNS over /v1

The public API reaches files, buckets and DNS. A domain is added to the API after proof of ownership, a TXT record on the domain.

  4. Files

One file tree for mail and Drive, and sharing for the whole tree

Files in mail and Drive are one tree, with an archive and a trash that is emptied after 30 days. A folder or a file is shared with named people or a link, with previews for the people invited. The editors save as encrypted versions.

  5. Site

Mail is received on our own server, which also serves the web

Incoming mail arrives at our own mail exchanger, where spam and malware are filtered. The web is served by our server directly. The Helsinki server is backed up to the Swedish one every six hours.

  6. Files

Documents and spreadsheets edited in the browser, together

Documents and spreadsheets are edited in Files. A document shared for editing is edited by several people at once.

  7. Site

A page of promises, and prices that follow your use

The promises page lists what PineMail commits to and where each one can be checked. The price page shows what sending costs; mailboxes and domains cost nothing extra.
